The Role
We are seeking a proactive and detailed Credit Assurance Manager to support the development, implementation of credit risk assurance activity for our large, growing and successful Private Credit Business.
Key Responsibilities
This role will be varied, but you will be expected to:
- Support the 2LOD Risk function in developing an assessment and review process to ensure credit exposures, terms and conditions and associated deal documentation is aligned to approved terms.
- Provide tangible feedback and recommendations on process improvements to mitigate future risk.
- Provide thematic reviews, as well as focused deep dives into specific individual cases, where additional assurance may be of benefit, as requested by 1LOD.
- Analyse data and MI and provide independent observations re credit risk exposure/trend.
- Provide independent oversight of the forbearance and provisions process.
- Review related regulatory processes that deal with areas such as vulnerable clients, complaints etc within Private Credit
- Timely and accurate reporting and escalation of issues to Senior Management
- Provide support in completing operational based audits across the lending book (when necessary)
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to embed a strong risk culture across the Group

Experience & Qualifications
- Applicants should have relevant experience in a credit risk audit or credit assurance role, either in the banking sector or through a non-bank lending institution
- A solid understanding of ‘good and appropriate’ lending practices and procedures.
- Should be able to determine and apply a risk based approach in their assessment / outcomes.
- A broad understanding of commercial, corporate and property lending/transactions.
- Knowledge of Project Finance, Infrastructure or Wholesale Lending is desirable but not essential.
- The candidate will have strong organisational and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy are essential for this role.
