Description
Are you passionate about unlocking the true potential of data to transform business performance? We’re seeking a dynamic Head of Data Impact and Enablement to lead the development and execution of our data strategy within the commercial insurance business unit. You’ll champion the enhancement of data capabilities, promote a culture of data-driven decision-making, and provide clear guidance on roles and responsibilities across AXA. Your agile leadership will be essential in driving AXA Commercial’s data initiatives forward, ensuring seamless alignment with business objectives, and empowering teams to harness data as a strategic asset to achieve exceptional results.

AXA Commercial has a transformational opportunity to revolutionise its business and operations through the strategic use of data, analytics, and artificial intelligence capabilities, supported by a robust and scalable architecture and infrastructure. We’re excited by the opportunity to harness the power of data to unlock value across all areas of our business, enabling faster, more efficient and better-informed decision making through automation, augmentation and advanced analytics.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events. We’re also happy to consider flexible working arrangements, which you can discuss with Talent Acquisition.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Work with the Data Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to shape and construct a data strategy to support AXA UK OKRs and business objectives aligned to the 2028 strategy.
  • Identify opportunities for data utilisation to enhance underwriting, claims processing, and customer engagement.
  • Promote a data-driven culture through training and enablement initiatives for Commercial colleagues at all levels.
  • Establish the Data, Insights & Analytics team as a Centre of Excellence, fostering a partnership approach to understand stakeholder needs and align with organisational objectives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including underwriting, claims, pricing, risk, finance and UK&I data teams to understand data needs and drive initiatives.
  • Engage with senior leadership to communicate data strategy, progress, and value to the business.
  • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of data initiatives on business outcomes, with a key focus upon Return on Investment.
  • Report regularly on data strategy progress and insights derived from analytics efforts.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies in data analytics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence.
  • Implement best practices for data management and analytics to drive innovation within AXA Commercial.

  • Demonstrated experience in steering strategic, analytical, and data management initiatives within Agile, fast-paced environments, preferably in the insurance or financial services sectors.
  • Established success in leading transformative data initiatives that enhance business value and performance.
  • Knowledge and understanding of data analytics tools and technologies, such as SQL, Python, R, and Tableau.
  • Familiarity with machine learning and AI applications in the insurance industry.
  • Ability to effectively present complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
