Head of Direct Trading: As the driving force behind the trading performance of our Direct Distribution channels, you’ll be at the heart of delivering exceptional results across New Business, In-Life, and Renewals. You’ll lead the charge in achieving ambitious targets for customer volume, GWP, and income, while forging powerful relationships with the PCWs to secure strategic partner status. Your influence will ensure Ageas’s brand portfolio and strategy are front and centre, enabling collaborative initiatives and seamless ways of working that fuel growth and innovation.
You’ll own and energise our trading activities across all channels and lines of business, aligning plans and inspiring action across the organisation. From chairing high-impact Direct Steer meetings to identifying fresh market opportunities, your leadership will shape our proposition deployment and marketing strategies—especially within the PCW channel. You’ll bring insight and direction to renewal marketing, championing customer feedback and optimising performance at every touchpoint.
Main Responsibilities as Head of Direct Trading:
- Drive cross-functional change by aligning Underwriting, Pricing, Marketing, and Digital teams to deliver strong customer and trading outcomes, while tracking and challenging initiatives for financial benefit.
- Lead trading governance through weekly/monthly meetings and the Trading Steer, ensuring strategic alignment and actionable insights across all disciplines.
- Act as a key Pricing Committee delegate, constructively challenging proposals and contributing to pricing forums, forecasts, and control reports with a customer-first mindset.
- Own PCW relationships, maintaining strong daily engagement and leading monthly HoD calls across major partners (CTM, MSM, Confused), with strategic escalation support.
- Contribute to market planning through involvement in MYB and rolling forecasts, helping shape activity and challenge assumptions to optimise performance.
Skills and experience you need as Head of Direct Trading:
- Proven commercial acumen with deep expertise in general insurance, including aggregator channel management and digital distribution.
- Strategic leadership with the ability to drive change, manage multiple projects, and influence cross-functional teams to deliver business outcomes.
- Highly analytical and results-driven, with strong forecasting, planning, and performance analysis capabilities.
- Exceptional stakeholder and relationship management, both internally and externally, including experience with suppliers and marketing collaboration.
- Strong communication and technical skills, able to articulate complex ideas, adapt messaging to different audiences, and contribute to product development.
