We are looking to add to our Energy & Sustainability team and looking for an ideal candidate who will be in a position to be the head of the Energy department and work with the senior leadership team to drive forward our energy offering.

Role Overview

The Head of Energy and Sustainability is responsible for leading Edmund Services’ strategic and operational approach to energy efficiency, carbon reduction, and sustainability across our client portfolio. This role drives innovation in building performance, ensuring our services not only meet but exceed environmental, social, and governance (ESG) targets. The position combines technical expertise, commercial acumen, and leadership skills to deliver measurable energy savings, reduced environmental impact, and added value for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership – Develop and implement Edmund Services’ energy and sustainability strategy, aligned with our business goals and client ESG objectives.
• Energy Management – Lead the identification, delivery, and optimisation of energy-saving opportunities through Building Management Systems (BMS) fine-tuning, plant upgrades, and operational improvements.
• Carbon Reduction – Manage initiatives to help clients achieve Net Zero, including carbon footprint reporting, offset strategies, and renewable energy integration.
• Compliance & Reporting – Oversee regulatory compliance (e.g., ESOS, SECR, MEES) and produce client-ready sustainability and energy performance reports.
• Innovation – Introduce and integrate new technologies, data analytics, and industry best practices to improve energy performance.
• Stakeholder Engagement – Collaborate with clients, site teams, and senior leadership to ensure sustainability goals are understood, implemented, and achieved.
• Training & Culture – Promote sustainability awareness across Edmund Services, delivering training and embedding a culture of energy-conscious operations.
• Commercial Impact – Support bid responses, tenders, and client proposals with compelling sustainability strategies and proven results.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven track record in energy management, sustainability, or environmental engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of building services, mechanical & electrical systems, and energy monitoring tools.
• Strong understanding of UK and EU sustainability legislation and reporting frameworks.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to analyse data, identify trends, and present solutions in a clear and commercial way.
