Head of Engagement

Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 per annum + excellent benefits, including 27 days holiday, 2:1 pension (up to 12% employer contribution), plus many more

Location: London/Hybrid with an expectation of regular in person meetings and events in London; with flexibility on working from home at other times. This role has a significant responsibility for influencing work and it is realistic to the role holder to need to be in the office and / or in meetings with external stakeholders frequently. From time to time there may also be events and meetings to attend across the UK where necessary.

That’s nearly a third of all adults in the UK.


We are Fair4All Finance. We are a not-for-profit organisation working with Financial Services providers to improve the financial wellbeing of people in vulnerable circumstances by increasing access to fair, affordable and appropriate financial products and services.


We are continuing our work following our latest round of funding, and as a result we are now seeking a Head of Engagement to lead our stakeholder engagement strategy, building strong and lasting relationships with senior leaders across financial services, government, community finance, and advocacy organisations.

Key Responsibilities


  • Lead the design and delivery of our stakeholder engagement strategy to support systems change and increase access to fair financial products.
  • Build and manage relationships with senior stakeholders across banks, insurers, credit providers, civil society, and government.
  • Develop and deliver partnerships with financial services firms to achieve sustained impact.
  • Provide strategic insight to shape programme and policy development.
  • Plan and deliver high-profile engagement initiatives, events, and multi-stakeholder collaborations.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Communications to ensure aligned messaging and influence.
  • Embed best practice stakeholder engagement and account management across the organisation.
  • Support the CEO and senior leaders with preparation, counsel, and external representation.
  • Lead and develop the engagement team, as well as external partners and consultants.
  • Manage engagement budgets and use data and CRM tools to measure impact and continuously improve engagement activities.


Essential experience & qualifications:


  • Significant experience in senior stakeholder engagement, public affairs, partnerships, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of the financial services sector and policy environment.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships with senior stakeholders in complex, regulated environments.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing effective influencing strategies.
  • Experience using CRM and engagement tools to coordinate outreach and analyse effectiveness.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels.
  • Experience leading teams and managing external partners or consultants.


Desirable experience


  • Familiarity with community finance, social sector engagement, or cross-sector collaboration.
  • Knowledge of financial inclusion, social impact, or systems change initiatives.
  • Experience of embedding engagement strategies across a growing organisation.

Founded in 2019, we are funded from the Dormant Assets Scheme. The scheme is led by the financial industry and backed by the UK government. This makes it possible for money in dormant bank and building society accounts to be used to help good causes.
