About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional leader to take on the pivotal role of Group Head of Engineering within our Bus division. As a member of our senior leadership team, you’ll be responsible for leading the engineering function across multiple operating companies. This is a strategic role that offers the opportunity to drive innovation, embed best practices, and align engineering excellence with our business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Champion the development and deployment of a best-in-class Fleet Management System
• Collaborate with Operating Company Engineering Directors to optimise fleet performance
• Embed safety, reliability, and sustainability across fleet operations
• Leverage technology and data to drive innovation and informed decision-making
• Lead workforce optimisation, training, and capability development initiatives
• Maintain rigorous quality assurance through audit and performance oversight
• Regularly report to top management on engineering and fleet performance
• Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence

What We’re Looking For

Technical Expertise:

• Proven engineering acumen with deep understanding of systems, processes, and technologies
• A track record in delivering complex engineering projects and implementing scalable systems
• Ability to analyse data and convert insights into measurable improvements

Leadership & Strategy:

• Visionary thinking with strong strategic planning capability
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams in complex, matrixed environments
• Skilled in stakeholder engagement and driving cross-functional collaboration
• Agile mindset to adapt to change and lead transformation at scale

Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in engineering or a related discipline
• Significant experience in a senior engineering leadership role
• Demonstrated success in leading large teams and multi-site operations

Working Environment:
