The Role

You’ll lead the technical vision and strategy of our of the key engineering units within the Tezos ecosystem focused on applicative technology

Directly overseeing an engineering function of around 40 including managers and engineers (plus numerous external vendors) developing decentralised applications, tooling, infrastructure and smart contracts.

As part of the leadership team you'll work closely with the Co-Founder of Tezos and have the opportunity to shape the technical roadmap, drive innovation, and ensure the robust development of our blockchain technology.

You’ll be pivotal in driving Tezos towards mainstream adoption, fostering collaboration and technical excellence along the way.

What you’ll do

• Provide strategic direction and mentorship fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability across the engineering function
• Define and execute the engineering strategy in alignment with the Tezos Roadmap and objectives
• Champion delivery focus and general operational and executional excellence whilst being rigorously customer centric
• Stay on top of emerging technologies and trends within the blockchain and cryptocurrency space, selecting technologies and tools to optimise performance and scalability
• Collaborate closely with other senior leaders including Product, Marketing and Commercial to foster strong cross-functional partnerships in the delivery of high-quality solutions
• Establish and enforce data-driven quality standards and best practices for software development, including code reviews, testing, and performance monitoring
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise development processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Own the management of resources, budgets, and timelines effectively

What you’ll need

• Strong technical background and still has an existing curiosity to solve technical problems
• Extensive experience as a Senior, Staff or Principal software engineer building products used by consumers
• Proven track record of success as a manager of managers
• Experience leading large scale complex projects concurrently with the ability to prioritise effectively and deliver high quality solutions within deadlines
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of the senior leadership team
• Demonstrate a genuine interest or curiosity for blockchain technology, prior experience working with Blockchain tech would be a bonus.
