Head of Events (Event Agency) - £70k - Manchester Outskirts/Hybrid

Profiles Creative are supporting an events agency in the Manchester area, looking to hire a Head of Events to lead a team of project managers and producers. The Head of Events is a senior leadership position responsible for driving operational excellence, commercial performance, and outstanding client service across the events function. You’ll lead, mentor, and inspire a multi-disciplinary operations team, ensuring events are delivered flawlessly while maintaining strong margins, consistent standards, and long-term client partnerships. Acting as both a leader and consultant, you’ll elevate the agency’s offering by embedding a strategic, solutions-led approach to everything the team delivers. Our client has a varied client base across B2C & B2B so experience in both is preferred.

The Role:

Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing events operations team, including Project Directors, Senior Producers, Producers, and Executives
Set clear standards, goals, and accountability to drive excellence, consistency, and continuous improvement

Ensure every event is delivered seamlessly, on time, on budget, and to the highest creative and operational standards

Own the commercial performance of the events function, consistently achieving and exceeding margin targets

Provide strategic oversight of budgets, resourcing, profitability, and risk across all projects

Act as a senior, consultative partner to clients, building trusted relationships and driving long-term account growth

Champion exceptional client service across every touchpoint, from onboarding to delivery and debrief

Identify opportunities for cross-sell, up-sell, and organic growth, supporting wider business development efforts

Build and nurture strategic supplier partnerships that enhance quality, creativity, and commercial value

Negotiate strong commercial agreements and manage supplier performance against agreed SLAs

Collaborate closely with the Creative team to deliver bold, innovative, and impactful event experiences

Embed creativity as a non-negotiable while balancing commercial awareness and operational excellence

Lead the development of the events team through structured training, mentoring, and clear progression pathways

Foster a culture of curiosity, ambition, collaboration, and accountability

Represent the agency within the industry, building influence, credibility, and strong external networks

The Candidate:

Extensive experience leading events or operations teams within an agency environment
Proven track record of delivering exceptional events that meet both creative and commercial goals
Strong people leader with experience developing high-performing teams
Commercially astute, with demonstrable P&L and margin responsibility
Confident communicator and strategic consultant, comfortable influencing at senior level
Well-connected within the events industry, able to leverage relationships for business growth
