JSS are delighted to partner with a specialty reinsurer where they are looking for a Head of Finance to join the organisation and manage all finance and operational initiatives across the business. This role is an imperative position, reporting directly into the CFO where you will be making a clear impact across finance operations, future planning, regulatory and team management.

Responsibilities:

• Annual financial reporting -Lead the preparation of audited financial statements and regulatory returns
• Audit coordination - Manage the annual audit process and work closely with external auditors to ensure accurate disclosures and follow-up on recommendations
• Supervise relationships with external providers (e.g. auditors, tax advisors, custodians), ensuring contract compliance and service quality
• Deputising the CFO as/ when required
• Financial planning & reporting - Oversee the preparation of: Annual budgets, management and Board reports, regulatory and investment reports, quarterly returns to HM Treasury
• Tax Management -Handle corporate tax matters, including: Tax instalments and liabilities, VAT returns
• Financial Controls - Develop and maintain robust accounting systems and internal controls
• Team Management - Managing a team of qualified accountants

Personal Profile:

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CAANZ, CPA qualified accountant
• Extensive experience in accounting for specialty insurers (reinsurance desirable)
• Strong FP&A and strategic finance experience, including annual budgets, management reporting, Board reporting
• Prior experience managing a team - essential
• Experience within investment finance - desirable
