About the Role

We are supporting the appointment of a Head of Finance for a leading, growth-oriented organisation. This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for partnering closely with Executive and Commercial leadership to drive sustainable growth, robust financial performance, and effective long-term planning.

Role Overview

The Head of Finance will act as a senior Finance Business Partner to Commercial and Executive stakeholders, providing high-quality financial insight, shaping strategic plans, and supporting informed decision-making. The role carries accountability for identifying and managing financial risks and opportunities, ensuring plans are commercially sound and aligned with long-term objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Business Partnering

Act as a trusted Finance Business Partner to senior and Executive leaders, influencing strategic and commercial decisions.
Contribute as a member of senior leadership and governance forums across the business.
Lead, coach, and develop a team of qualified finance professionals, building capability and driving high performance.
Promote a collaborative, values-driven culture across finance and the wider organisation.

Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting

Lead the development of multi-year strategic plans and the annual budgeting process in partnership with senior stakeholders.
Deliver budgets and forecasts, proactively identifying risks, opportunities, and emerging trends.
Review, challenge, and present financial plans and forecasts to Executive leadership.
Ensure financial projections are robust, well-understood, and aligned to strategic priorities.

Financial Management & Commercial Insight

Hold responsibility for key elements of the income statement and balance sheet across core operations and investment initiatives.
Continuously improve management information, focusing on clarity, insight, and forward-looking analysis.
Deliver value-adding analysis to support decisions on pricing, product performance, investment, incentives, and operating model optimisation.
Use market and competitor insight to inform strategic and commercial decision-making.

Treasury, Risk & Governance

Support and optimise treasury and cash management strategies, balancing commercial objectives with risk and stakeholder considerations.

Ensure financial decision-making aligns with relevant regulatory, governance, and value-for-money requirements.

Own financial risk and controls across Commercial and Product areas, ensuring risks are identified, mitigated, and monitored.

Efficiency & Continuous Improvement

Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, systems, capability, and ways of working.
Strengthen financial control environments and support effective governance across the business.

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.
Proven experience in senior commercial finance or finance business partnering roles within complex organisations.
Strong track record of influencing senior stakeholders and driving business performance through insight.
Demonstrated experience leading and developing high-performing finance teams.
Advanced financial modelling, scenario analysis, and forecasting capability.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into actionable insight.

Confident communicator with experience presenting to and influencing senior and Executive audiences.
