Job Title: Head of FP&A, Northern Europe
Reporting to: Finance Director, Northern Europe
Responsible for: Finance management control Team, three people.

As a Head of FP&A, Norther Europe, within the Finance department you will have ownership and responsibility to implement the finance management strategy reporting to the Finance Director. You will business partner the Retail and HO functions to drive the business forward and support the profitability of Northern Europe composed of : UK, Ireland, BeneLux, Nordics.

Responsibilities
- To support the business in all aspects of finance management in close collaboration with the Finance Director, General Manager, EMEA finance zone and Retail Directors.
- To manage and oversee the monthly finance management reporting, budgets and ad hoc finance analysis. Bringing agility and business solution to the department.
- Manage the finance management team and partner the full finance department.
- Be the next in line and direct support to the Finance Director.
Within the position you are directly responsible for the following functions:
Reporting & Finance
- Alongside the Finance Manager, prepare and review :
- The monthly reporting including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash-flows & FTE.
- The preparation of the quarterly consolidated package & IFRS 16 reporting’s
- Assist in reconciliation processes in the Finance Department and coding of invoices.
- Support the purchase order process and monthly follow-up, as well as strong support and training to various departments and operational users.
- Maintain communication with Paris HQ on the internal control process. In charge of the Erica campaign (internal control tool) for the whole Northern Europe region.
- Flexibility is required for monthly and annual reporting as well as participation to annual inventories to meet the French calendar (bank holidays and Sundays if required accordingly)
- Support during the Statutory accounts’ audits (preparation of back-ups and analysis as required)
Budget
- Monthly analysis of sales and margin, costs by cost centre & cost type (staff expenses, communications expenses and other expenses), analysing main variances with latest revision, budget and previous year.
- Monthly cost control analysis, providing strategy and solution for budget control with action plan proposal.
- Responsible for the preparation of budgets and revisions in accordance with group requirements and timetable, including the preparation of the 3-year budget plan and budget presentations.
- Manage, prepare and work in conjunction with all Head of departments and Retail Managers on budget planning, welfare budgets, compensation & benefits analysis.
Business Strategy
- Analysis of KPI’s sales per nationality, product category, best sellers etc in conjunction with Head of departments.
- Support the business and stores in ad-hoc business developments, profitability of new initiatives and finance control projects.
- Support the requirements for Northern Europe Annual audits.
- Prepare the SOP, store opening plan, and briefs for all expansions and new openings. Within the business.
- Validate all supplier creations.
IT Finance
- Participate in the implementation of Finance / IT projects on the controlling functions.
- Reinforce Internal control and maintain / implement procedures (segregation of duties, bidding process, supplier set-up,…)
- Provide training to Finance tool and processes to the organisation (Tender / Bidding process, Purchase order,…)
- Continually seek to improve processing efficiency and controlling capabilities within the business.
Profile
Experience Required
- Minimum 10 years’ experience of which 7 years’ minimum experience in a similar position within an international group.
- Fully Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA) or Business school
- Solid accounting knowledge with the ability to analyse, compare and interpret facts quickly. Strong excel and system knowledge (SAP, Cegid & Cognos)
- Strong business acumen, strategic thinker, pro-active, agile and ability to work at a fast pace.
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills, ability to communicate at all levels.
- A team player
- Excellent English communication. French language is beneficial but not a requirement.
