We are seeking a passionate leader to run the Group Security domain. You will be reporting directly to the Group Director, Safety, Security and Resilience and will be a key member of the Safety, Security and Resilience leadership team. This is a critically important role that shapes the security strategy across all our Markets and leads an experienced, passionate team of security experts.

Job Purpose:
We are seeking a passionate leader to run the Group Security domain. You will be reporting directly to the Group Director of Safety, Security & Resilience and will be a key member of the leadership team. This is a critically important role that offers significant scope to shape a strategy central to enabling the security of Sky across all our Markets.
What you will do:
- Be the leader across Sky who is responsible for developing the strategy and overseeing the delivery of an effective security capability across Sky.
- Be ready to take a strong existing Group Security capability with a good reputation onto their next steps in maturity, ensuring security remains a critical enabler to Sky's success.
- Lead and develop a high-performance team of self-motivated problem solvers, capable of supporting the business with subject matter expertise and independent and confident enough to challenge appropriately when needed.
- Continue to develop the Group Security programme, ensuring it delivers what the business needs, through practical, cost-effective solutions that are compliant with all relevant legislation.
- Be responsible for senior leadership engagement on security matters, from Group Executive through to senior leadership teams across a broad business portfolio.
- Drive successful security solutions across a broad range of businesses, including Productions; Retail; Home Service Engineers; News; Sports and more.
- Promote a culture of business ownership of risk, providing the business with the right tools to manage it themselves but building capacity to step-in and provide hands-on support when needed.
- Be comfortable with and ready to use the latest innovations in security thinking to deliver the best returns on investment for the business, including in areas like AI; automation; digitisation; analytics and intelligence.
- Build or mature Group-wide controls, working with the markets to ensure compliance and develop capability.
- Be an evangelist for the benefits security can bring the business, enabling Sky to meet its creative goals as well as helping to safeguard the wellbeing of our people, business and reputation.
- Build a very strong business network. Support, partner and where appropriate, challenge our business leadership at every level to ensure security is a part of the conversation and part of the delivery across the Group.
- Support the Group Director, Safety, Security and Resilience delivering agile initiatives that fail fast, improve and move on, keeping the security programme slick, relevant and future proofed.
What you'll bring:
- You'll be a champion for doing the right thing, responding to Sky's diverse challenges with an approach that balances best practice, common sense, pragmatism, and commercial thinking.
- You'll be a security subject matter expert, with a proven track record in Security Risk at leadership level - this is not a cyber role - you have a track record of defining and implementing strategies, across matrixed organisations. Ideally, you'll be Chartered, hold a Security-related master's degree, or hold related industry qualifications.
- You are an outstanding leader, who is great at empowering and enabling your Team to be at their best, every single day; and willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done.
- You have a strong understanding of security, the value it adds, its relationship with other risk-based functions like Health and Safety.
- You have proven ability to think outside of the box, challenge industry norms and adapt quickly to evolving requirements and technologies, to deliver continuous improvements.
- You'll have demonstrable experience of setting and delivering strategic direction, ensuring improvements align with business objectives and come with a history of building strong executive-level relationships and successfully leading global teams.
- You are client satisfaction-focused; a great relationship builder with business partners and ensure prompt, transparent, proactive, and effective communications with these partners; with an ability to influence stakeholders both internally and externally across all levels.
- You have proven experience of managing a global team and partners within a diverse business culture; ability to inspire change through others.
- You have strength in taking decisive action where time is critical factor, ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, even under pressure.
- You have strength in communicating and presenting complex issues and ideas with precision and clarity, adjusting appropriately for the audience; ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organisation.
- You like working at pace and embrace change as an opportunity to get better. You model the behaviour you want to see.
