Job Description:
Lancaster Group Holdings have over 150 employees, making us one of the largest employers in the Lancaster and Morecambe area.
We are looking for an experienced Head of HR who can not only prioritise and manage the ongoing case load but also lead the HR requirements of the business and deliver a comprehensive HR function. As we see ongoing changes to employment law, it is essential for the business to have a knowledgeable Head of HR who can lead the department and implement successful change where required.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Upon commencement of employment, the successful candidate will be asked to audit the HR department and make recommendations on where this can be improved, with a plan of how this can be achieved.
- Deliver a fair and robust recruitment process.
- Ensure a comprehensive onboarding process.
- Oversee and ensure probation reviews are carried out in a timely manner and to a satisfactory level by line managers.
- Will be required to deliver routine training, for example Equality and Diversity training.
- Responsible for issuing employment contracts and any variations to these ensuring the are fully compliant with current employment legislation.
- Responsible for ensuring all employees are working within the Working Time Regulations (1998).
- For all aspects of the role will need to be knowledgeable on current Employment Law and maintain a good understanding of this.
- Required to advise Line Managers on the full disciplinary process from investigation through to disciplinary and appeal.
- Have a forward-thinking approach, the successful candidate will be expected to deliver new ideas and promote forward thinking HR, not a fully reactive approach.
- Promote positive employee engagement and liaise with team leaders and heads of department to support and pro actively implement where required.
