The Head of Asset Management reports to the Director of Commercial and Asset Management and is accountable for delivering maximum value from asset base now and into the future across the full asset lifecycle, with the ultimate purpose of generating solutions to satisfy NGED that can satisfy the market need.
This is a highly visible leadership position and will require you to contribute to the overall network strategy and achievements of regulatory incentives by taking strategic leadership of the asset management function within NGED.
The Head of Asset Management will lead the creation and maintenance of asset strategies, define the short, medium and long term asset needs for the ED business. They are responsible for producing long term asset strategy optimising the current and future asset work programmes to deliver value across the price control deliverables and regulatory framework and funding,, assuring effective asset data records and management information and provision of asset and climate modelling information to shape strategies and support decision making in relation to assets.
As a senior leader, you will be expected to drive change management and thought leadership as well take accountability for asset strategy and change management across the business, including establishing the climate adaption approach.
This role is based out of our Warwick or Stand office, and we’d hope to see you at least two days per week but you’re welcome to be in the office more often if that would work best for you. We’re happy to discuss any additional flexibility in working patterns or requirements that you feel could help to make this job work for you!
Key Accountabilities
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in commerce/business or engineering or Chartered Engineer.
- Leading the overall long-term business unit strategy, drive change management, contribute to overall network strategy and the achievement of regulatory incentives.
- Take ownership of the asset requirements of ED, implement our long-term asset management strategy, and deliver maximum commercial value from our asset base.
- Accountable for asset optimisation for the entire existing asset base, now and into the future, developing solutions that achieve needs.
- Develop and assure asset management practices, aligning engineering policy and ensuring business adoption to ensure compliance and best practice.
- Accountable for managing performance with clear and focused management information that support risk mitigation.
- Ensure that asset management policies and actions are optimised with reference to the regulatory framework and funding.
- Act as steward for the Asset Management function, building and developing talent and securing effective succession plans.
