Do you have outstanding stakeholder management and an eye for strategy? We’re looking for an experienced person for a role in AXA UK’s Internal Communications team.

You’ll be responsible for reviewing what we communicate, how and to who through a comprehensive review. You’ll develop a channel strategy, based on insight and focused on building employee engagement. You’ll need to be inquisitive and have a practical approach, with a strong ability to understand tools and issues from an end-user’s perspective.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) towards the end of 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Review and develop a proposal for refocused operating model and strategy.
  • Reset internal communications strategy, with particular focus on UK & Ireland initiatives and roadmap, and clear measures for success.
  • Develop and deliver coherent and impactful corporate internal communications and stakeholder engagement, including to broaden our reach.
  • Leads the Internal Communications teams, managing and advising lead stakeholders to deliver a joined up and cohesive Internal Communications strategy.
  • Consult with External Communications, Public Affairs and Brand to ensure alignment and to deliver integrated campaigning approach.
  • Develop a ‘go forward’ strategy to refocus channels and increase employee engagement.

What you’ll bring:

  • Strong leadership and influencing skills with experience of working with a devolved customer facing organisation.
  • Experience of transforming and reshaping Internal Communications functions in a large organisation.
  • Expertise of building internal communications strategies and influence and increasing the impact of internal channels and messages.
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships and influence change at a senior level.
  • In-house internal communications experience in complex organisation with geographically dispersed staff.
  • Significant experience managing, delivering and measuring change communication, working with senior stakeholders and developing a company wide internal communications strategy.
  • Success in managing complex projects, involving multiple stakeholders, from start to finish.


As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.

This position has been defined as an Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) role under the IDD regime which means that in addition to pre-employment screening checks, the successful candidate will be subject to background screening every 4 years with an annual declaration in interim years.
