About The Role
We are looking for an experienced CIPD professional to take on the role of
Head of Learning & Delivery across our CIPD programmes. Reporting to our Director of Product & Operations, this role will lead the design, delivery and continuous improvement of our CIPD Level 3, 5 and 7 programmes. You will ensure the highest standards of programme quality, tutor delivery, and learner experience, while shaping the future of our CIPD offering.
This is a senior leadership role, ideal role for someone who brings deep expertise in people practice and a strong track record of leading programme design and delivery, and who is motivated by driving excellence in learning outcomes and programme innovation.
What You’ll Do
You will be accountable for:
Programme design and quality
- Lead the design and continuous improvement of Avado’s CIPD Level 3, 5, and 7 programmes, including all online learning available on the Avado Hub, live classes (e.g. PowerPoint slide decks) and other learning assets
- Oversee the application of CIPD standards, ensuring qualifications remain rigorous, relevant and future-focused
- Monitor learner outcomes, pass rates and feedback data to identify improvements and drive innovation
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and policy requirements
- Stay current with developments in HR practice, academic trends and learning technologies to keep our CIPD programmes at the cutting edge
Tutor leadership and programme delivery
- Line manage and support a team of ~7 tutors and associate tutors, ensuring high standards of teaching quality, consistency, and learner engagement
- Line manage one instructional designer (based in Mumbai), ensuring alignment between content design and delivery standards
- Set clear expectations, provide coaching and feedback, and lead regular tutor meetings to align delivery standards
- Lead programme planning, including tutor allocation, live session scheduling, and assessment timelines
- Act as the senior escalation point for complex learner or academic issues, supporting tutors in resolution rather than direct intervention
- Monitor programme performance data, ensuring timely interventions to improve learner outcomes
Strategic leadership and innovation
- Shape the future direction of Avado’s CIPD offering, with a particular focus on enhancing the Level 7 qualification
- Collaborate with internal teams (Curriculum & Assessment, Student Support, Product & Platforms) to ensure programmes remain effective and up to date
- Identify and implement opportunities for innovation in programme design, delivery models, and assessment approaches
- Represent CIPD programmes and the tutor team in cross-functional and external forums, championing academic excellence and learner success
What We’re Looking For
- A strong CIPD background (Level 7 qualification or equivalent experience), with deep understanding of HR and people practice
- Proven experience leading programme delivery in an academic or professional training environment
- Experience line managing tutors, lecturers, or subject matter experts, with the ability to set standards and coach for excellence
- Strong knowledge of learning design and instructional practice, ideally across digital and blended learning models
- A track record of driving quality assurance, academic standards, and compliance in regulated qualifications
- Strategic thinking with the ability to balance innovation with rigour
- Excellent communication, collaboration and stakeholder management skills, with confidence representing programmes internally and externally
- A learner-first mindset, motivated by improving outcomes, engagement, and overall learning experience
Lots Of Benefits Including
- Holidays – 25 days plus bank public holidays, increasing by 1 day after 2 years and a further day after 4 years
- An additional day off on or around your birthday
- Cycle2Work scheme
- Statutory pension and life assurance.
- On-demand access to our Avado Connect community
- Access to curated personal development tools, including the SEEDL learning platform and Blenheim Chalcot’s training hub and resources.
