We currently have a new opportunity for a Head of Legal Services to join our team in London.


As the Head of Legal Services, you will manage the established in-house Legal Services Team including Senior Lawyers and the Legal Practice Manager providing expert legal advice and support to Guinness. You will also be responsible for overseeing the external Legal Services Framework contract, ensuring that the appropriate legal advice and representation are provided whether inhouse or externally. You will provide legal advice on complex, high profile matters.


What we’re looking for

We know that how we do things is just as important as what we do, so you’ll not only be a qualified solicitor or barrister with excellent knowledge of housing / housing law, but you’ll also be a confident collaborator, with the willingness to go the extra mile to get the job done and bring out the best in team members.


Essential experience:

  • Experience in a senior legal role, managing legal staff.
  • Significant post qualification experience in one or more of the following – , litigation, including housing litigation, residential and commercial conveyancing or contracts.
  • Experience of providing legal advice to senior management, including advising on governance or regulatory implications of legal cases.
  • Ability to present information in a variety of forms to a high standard, including excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Highly organised and methodical with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience of working to deadlines and targets.
  • Previous experience of working in a housing association or public sector body.


Essential qualifications:

  • Qualified solicitor or barrister (qualified to practice in England).
