Overview of Department
17Capital is looking for a maternity cover for the Head of Marketing to lead a fast paced and motivated team of two.
Position Summary
With the overarching marketing strategy and plan in place, the key responsibility of this role will be delivering on the plan, continuing to support and develop the team and responding strategically to any new or changing business objectives throughout the year.
Founded 17 years ago, 17Capital pioneered the NAV finance market and continues to lead the asset class, we are looking for someone who is a passionate communicator who will help us maintain and grow our leadership position. The team undertakes a range of internal and external marketing activities across a range of channels including marketing campaigns, digital and events.
Roles & Responsibilities
Team management
- The team consists of a newly promoted VP and a newly joined analyst who both require continuous development and guidance in their roles
- Responsible for agreeing and communicating the marketing priorities and goals
- Providing support and guidance on the teams priorities (short and long term)
Providing support and guidance on the various marketing activities the team are leading on
Brand and marketing campaigns
- Overall responsibility for the brand, ensuring consistent messaging across all channels, identifying new opportunities to promote and evolve the 17Capital brand and to be a key point of contact in crisis situations to minimise reputational risk and negative brand image
- Acting as a key ambassador for the promotion of 17Capital values and ensuring the values underpin all internal and external communications, corporate messaging and marketing collateral
Support the team in delivering internal and external marketing activities throughout the year
Digital
- Supporting the team in delivering internal and external email communication campaigns
- Responsible for the 17Capital website, working with the team to ensure it is up to date, analytics are regularly reviewed, and any recommended changes or improvements are made
- Responsible for 17Capital Intranet, supporting the team to resolve IT/ performance issues, developing new features, maintain marketing news and activity and campaigns to encourage others internally to utilise the tool
- Supporting the team to manage zoom webinars

Events and conferences
- Support the team in delivery of external client events and internal company events
- Co-ordinate with Oaktree or Brookfield when events are shared, managing communication with the respective marketing and business teams.
Work with the global sales team to review and agree all conference sponsorship and attendance. Support the marketing team monitor and track all relevant conferences
Media relations
- Manage the three retained media agencies
- Manage and approve all media engagement and selected spokespeople
- Approval of all award submissions and entries
Manage and approve all firm news announcements
Content
Work with internal and external content writers to design, produce and distribute relevant content to all relevant audiences
Stakeholder engagement
Conduct regular engagement with internal and external stakeholders
Marketing operations
- Responsible for the marketing budget for all aspects of marketing, this includes setting the budget, approval, processing and monitoring
Approval of all marketing invoices

Person Specification
- Excellent communication skills both written and oral
- Excellent organisational and project management skills

Strong resilience and ability to perform under pressure
Knowledge/Experience
- Minimum 10 years working in a marketing team, ideally within private equity
- Previous team management experience
- Knowledge of marketing tools, preferably webflow, hubspot, cvent and zoom.
- Enhanced level of Microsoft Outlook, Word & Powerpoint
Marketing qualification such as CIM
