Head of Middle Office – London (New Function)
A newly created opportunity to build and lead the Middle Office for the London branch of an international banking group. The role will design and run the operating model, processes, systems and controls for an 11‑person team, acting as the senior Middle Office contact and certified SMCR role-holder.
Key responsibilities include setting up the Middle Office framework, overseeing ESG analysis, client onboarding and due diligence, documentation and data management, first line credit monitoring and reporting, and representing the function in local and group committees. The role will also drive process optimisation, support regulatory and audit work, and champion a strong risk and compliance culture.
Candidates should have a degree in Law or Finance, proven management experience in Front or Middle Office, strong knowledge of UK/EU banking regulation and commercial lending (including LMA/LSTA/ISDA documentation), and excellent communication and organisational skills. Fluency in English and strong MS Office proficiency are required; European language skills are an advantage.
This is a strategic role for someone who wants to shape a Middle Office function from the ground up and play a pivotal part in connecting Front Office and control functions in a growing London branch.
