About The Role
Balfour Beatty are looking for a Head of Occupational Health and Wellbeing to join our Power Transmission and Distribution business covering the UK.
In this role, you will lead the delivery of a comprehensive and proactive health and wellbeing service across the UK business, shaping an integrated approach to employee health. You’ll provide expert, evidence-based advice on occupational health matters across a diverse range of work environments, helping to ensure our people remain safe, healthy, and supported.
This role is a national role. Regular travel will be expected, a company car or allowance will be provided.
Within our Power T&D business unit, we provide technical engineering solutions to electricity transmission and distribution network owners and operators. Our in-house experts support the full project lifecycle—from scoping and design to construction and maintenance—across all areas of the grid, including overhead lines, cabling, and substations.
What you'll be doing
- Lead the Occupational Health Advisers in providing and integrated approach to health
- Provide expert, informed advice on occupational health matters across a wide range of work activities
- Devise strategies that support wider business objectives health topics and drive improvements to go beyond statutory requirements and lead Balfour Beatty in the construction industry
- Provide performance reporting to senior leaders within the business areas on health matters
- Ensure the focus on occupational health risks is maintained by designing health- related campaigns and engaging with stakeholders for delivery
- Show leadership in communicating effectively with all parts of the business to ensure health is recognised and properly managed
- Role sits across Operational Senior Leadership Teams for both England & Wales and Scotland.
- Lead delivery of a full and proactive Health and wellbeing service throughout the UK business.
- Provide an operational link between the strategic direction of the health team and the transactional activity.
- Lead delivery of the health and wellbeing strategy for the BU.
- Ensure business compliance with occupational health procedures and be responsible for new processes to ensure appropriate legislation is achieved.
- Own project management of the implementation of occupational health, hygiene and wellbeing initiatives.
Who we're looking for
- Degree qualified or equivalent in relevant Occupational Health qualification
- Construction Industry experience preferred
- Experience in delivering Health and Wellbeing strategies
- Full UK driving licence
