Job Purpose:

As the Head of Operational Risk & Resilience, you'll play a key role in the management, control, and execution of the Operational Risk Management Framework as well as helping to embed the resilience plan. You will be part of the 2nd Line of Defence Risk & Compliance Team, supporting the Chief Risk Officer in executing the operational risk strategy. This is a hands-on role where you'll have the opportunity to manage key operational routines such as RCSA's, and Root Cause Analysis while ensuring the operational risk profile aligns with the risk appetite.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support Strategic Risk Management: Collaborate with the Head of Enterprise Risk to design and execute the operational risk strategy.
• Framework Oversight: Maintain and continually improve the Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF), ensuring alignment with broader Risk Management Frameworks, including Conduct Risk and Risk Appetite.
• Operational Risk Leadership: Serve as a key member of the Conduct, Compliance, and Operational Risk Committee (CORC) and Operational Resilience Committee, contributing to strategic decision-making.
• Reporting & Assurance: Design and present concise risk reports for Executive and Board levels, manage the Risk Registers, and oversee thematic reviews to ensure the effectiveness of risk management processes.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Build strong, collaborative relationships with 1st Line Business and Functional Heads, ensuring effective risk management while supporting business objectives.
• Culture & Training: Lead initiatives to develop an appropriate operational risk culture across the organization, including chairing the Risk Champion Forum.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Operational Risk Expertise: Proven experience in senior operational risk roles, with a deep understanding of financial services and regulatory frameworks.
• Leadership & Influence: Strong communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels, including Board and Executive leadership.
• Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Experience with risk control systems and processes, with a strong analytical mindset.
• Education: A degree-level education is required, with relevant industry qualifications desirable.
