Head of Operations (Construction and Engineering)

London & UK-wide | £175,000–£220,000 + package & bonus

Are you a senior delivery professional with a proven track record across complex and high-risk construction projects? Operating across major infrastructure, structural works, and industrial services, the business is known for its technical excellence and collaborative approach. As part of its ongoing growth, it is strengthening its senior leadership to bring greater programme oversight, strategic clarity, and delivery discipline across its project portfolio.

In this influential role, you’ll take full responsibility for a diverse portfolio of technically complex projects – maintaining rigorous HSE compliance, robust project controls, and strong client relationships throughout. It’s a high-profile position requiring someone equally comfortable with board-level strategy and operational delivery.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading delivery performance across safety, quality, commercial outcomes, and client satisfaction
• Overseeing infrastructure and specialist structural schemes across multiple locations
• Embedding clear governance, programme forecasting, and performance reporting
• Strengthening client relationships and supply chain collaboration
• Developing and mentoring a high-performing senior operational team

We’re seeking a commercially astute, engaging leader with broad experience across Tier 1 and Tier 2 environments, who can operate credibly at executive level. Strong contractual knowledge, an eye for risk, and a track record of leading complex UK-wide delivery teams are essential. This is a mobile role, requiring flexibility and a hands-on, proactive mindset.
