Head of Payroll Accounting
We are looking to appoint a new Head of Payroll Accounting and Short-Term Compensation Accruals as part of our Global Compensation Controller team within Finance. This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of global payroll accounting and short-term compensation accrual processes, including contributing to the strategic direction of the function, managing a team of 16 FTE, managing senior stakeholder relationships across the HR, IT and Finance organisations, delivering on Firmwide / Finance / HR projects, driving digital process automation, and supporting global compensation forecasting and reporting.
In the Finance division, we act as a partner to business units around the globe by providing management, review, analysis and advisory services of the Firm’s financial and capital resources. This is a Vice President level position within the Corporate Controllers, Reporting & Accounting job family which is responsible for the accuracy and control of the Firm’s books and records to produce the consolidated firm, segment and legal entities financial statements, including development, management and oversight of financial accounting & reporting systems as well as database management, including capital and liquidity reporting and external reporting functions.

What You'll Do In The Role
- Collaborate with a varied group of colleagues in Finance and across the Firm
- Lead end-to-end processes and/or programs that require complex decision making, advanced understanding of client and stakeholder needs and subject matter expertise
- Understand and adhere to the Firm's risk and regulatory standards, policies and controls; own risk and contingency plans for business area
- Act as a role model and culture carrier; embody and set an example of the Firm's values and hold yourself and team accountable to Firm standards
- Manage, attract, develop and retain talent for team within Finance while creating an inclusive environment; translate Firmwide goals into actionable goals for department/function
- Oversee the monthly financial close for global payroll and short-term compensation accrual processes
- Apply a strong commercial focus and contribute to the strategic direction of the function
- Provide high quality compensation analysis and forecasting to senior partners across HR and Finance
What You'll Bring To The Role
- Advanced understanding of Finance functional area, industry, and competitive environment and technical skills, including risks and key regulations relevant to the division
- Strong technical skills
- Ability to inspire and support others by providing positive and constructive feedback and to acknowledge efforts of and promote team members
- Ability to manage risk and impact to functional area, and create plans to mitigate those risks
- Experience in managing and developing a high performing team of at least 10-15 staff
- Expertise in handling complex operational and accounting issues and working cross-functionality to drive solutions
- Experience in managing multiple senior stakeholder relationships
- Experience in managing monthly financial close processes to meet business critical deadlines
- At least 8 years' relevant experience would generally be expected to find the skills required for this role
