About Your Role
As the Head of Performance Marketing, you will be responsible for transforming how Fidelity generates prospect demand from Search, Programmatic, Affiliates, Social and other always on Paid Media channels. Establishing an integrated strategy and planning process, the curation of the always on channel strategy and its associated creative / media plans and owning the management/deployment with Media/ Mar-Tech partners.
Closely collaborating with the broader Marketing Teams to ensure your team’s plans seamlessly integrate into campaign periods / enhanced periods of ATL advertising. Ensuring your team craft prospect centric onsite journeys and optimisation strategies, with the goal of instilling confidence in prospects to enhance the conversion of site traffic into application starts for all our Personal Investing products and services.
Key responsibilities:
Integrated Always on Paid Media Strategy and Planning:
- Strategy and annual planning: Transform how Fidelity generates prospect demand from Search, Programmatic, Affiliates, Social and other always on Paid Media channels. Establish an integrated strategy and annual planning process to define the always on channel strategy, reflect the integrated contribution from channels and the varied approach to deploy across the conversion funnel. Built upon translated business and product marketing strategy. Ensuring our approach is distinctive and laser focused on attracting target audience segments, to grow commercially attractive new product application start rates.
- Define robust targets & defined role: Lead the development of bottom-up channel planning and overarching integrated channel plans, focused on improving efficiency, ROI and prospect quality. Define the role and contribution expected from each channel, collaborating with media agencies on investment strategies aligned with audience targeting and business objectives.
- Channel plans: Oversee the development of the individual channel plans, as well as their implementation and refinement throughout each planning period. These plans should cover always on and campaign switch over periods, align to channel roles within the integrated channel mix and conversion funnel (adapted by product or service). With focus given to innovation tasked with informing longer-term growth and efficiency. Plans should cover channel/budget distribution, creatives / messaging approach, test&learn, assigned targets by product/ service.
- Journey plans: Develop robust onsite journey plans that compliment channel plans and campaign periods, including site test&learn. Direct channel-generated traffic into and through your journey, aiming for automating using a CDP when available. Optimise the public site performance to enhance efficiency and onsite conversions ie application start rates.
- Documentation: Ensure all plans are thoroughly documented and succinctly summarised for key stakeholders and Leadership.
Media and Mar-Tech Strategy:
- Technology and Partner Needs: Define marketing technology and media partner requirements for all managed channels, including planning, implementation, tracking and analysis.
- Infrastructure Development: Establish strong agency relationships and joint plans with vendors to maximise results, accountability and ROI efficiency. Develop investment business cases for new tech/software, secure approval, negotiate terms, and manage launches effectively.
Collaboration:
- Foster ongoing, effective collaboration from plan development through to post campaign evaluation, to ensure aligned understanding and prioritisation.
- Cultivate strong relationships with all core internal and external stakeholders to ensure genuinely integrated plans.
Performance Analysis:
- Lead comprehensive tracking and reporting strategies, to monitor progress against plans, identify performance gaps in single channels and multi-channel approaches, and swiftly adjust to close gaps while identifying acceleration opportunities.
- Lead monthly team performance reviews, providing monthly senior leadership / stakeholder reports (upstream KPIs) and quarterly KPI reviews (including downstream KPIs).
- Aim to establish econometrics in and quarterly plan reforecasts in 2026.
Team Management: Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of 10, based across different locations. Build team accountability and empowerment, driving continuous improvement and change with solid operational foundations (planning, flawless delivery, reporting and optimisation).
About You
Key Competencies & Experience:
- Strategy: Experienced strategic thinker, adept at both crafting new strategies and refining existing ones. Focused on enabling what truly matters, ensuring strategies are aligned with business objectives and designed to deliver incremental growth. Skilled at guiding teams to translate strategies into actionable marketing plans.
- Technical Expertise: Extensive performance marketing experience, gained from a range of channels, must include search, affiliates, programmatic and paid social. Proven success in overseeing a team to deliver both always on and campaign plans with a strong record of driving results, by unlocking roadblocks and identifying and activating innovation opportunities. A good understanding of Search Tools, DSPs, SSPs, Ad Exchanges and targeting capabilities is essential.
- Results Focus: Experience of driving the achievement and surpassing of objectives, aligning them with the organisation's strategic vision. Highly skilled at analysing performance data and metrics to monitor progress, make informed decisions, and maintain team motivation for high-quality outcomes. Cultivating a culture of accountability and improvement, you will identify and overcome barriers to success, ensuring optimal resource utilisation for maximum commercial impact.
- Agency Management: Skilled at leading third-party partners, with demonstrated success in establishing a “one-team” culture, delivering continuous evolving best practise, and ensuring maximised value is unlocked from all relationships.
- Communication Skills: Impactful communicator, able to inspire and connect with all levels of internal / third party colleagues. Equally talented at engaging and influencing senior leaders as junior team-members, clearly and effectively conveying complex information, ideas, and thoughts via seamless adaption of your verbal / written approach. Proven success in handling complex communications, including conflict resolution and negotiation.
- Stakeholder relationships and collaboration: Proactive stakeholder management, with extensive experience in building and nurturing relationships founded on trust and collaboration. Equally skilled in influencing and inspiring, as well as swift problem-solving and conflict resolution. With proven success at doing this effectively with all levels of stakeholders.
- People leadership and development: Passionate people leader with the ability to lead, coach and develop a high performing team, inspiring team members to reach their full potential. Highly effective at establishing a collaborative, growth mindset orientated culture through continuous two-way feedback. Demonstrated ability to build team accountability, empowerment and drive continuous improvement and change. Experience of upskilling teams beyond direct line management responsibility and talent management would be an advantage.
