Role Summary
We're seeking a Head of Portfolio Pricing [Non Motor] to lead pricing strategy, execution and governance across our Home, Pet and Bike insurance portfolios. This is a highly analytical, commercial and impactful role, ideal for someone who can blend technical pricing expertise, business acumen and team leadership to drive growth and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Owns pricing strategy, governance, and performance across our Home, Pet & Bike products.
- Shapes the direction of our pricing strategy and influence executive decisions.
- Leads the design and implementation of pricing frameworks, policies, and operating models.
- Builds and leads a high-performing pricing team, including managers and senior analysts.
- Oversees pricing innovation, including dynamic pricing, segmentation strategies, and value-based pricing.
- Ensures pricing compliance, risk management, and audit readiness across the organisation.
- Leads cross-functional pricing initiatives and strategic projects with enterprise impact.
- Partners with senior leaders in Finance, Sales, Product, and Marketing to embed pricing into strategic planning.
- Defines and monitors pricing KPIs, ensuring commercial effectiveness and continuous improvement.
- Represents the pricing function in executive forums and contributes to broader commercial strategy.
Required Skills & Experience
- Significant experience in technical or portfolio pricing roles within general insurance—ideally in personal lines, including home and/or pet.
- Proven expertise in developing end-to-end pricing processes, from data extraction to deployment and monitoring.
- Deep understanding of statistical modelling (GLMs, GBM), insurance market dynamics and embedding efficient use of pricing tools such as Radar, Emblem, Python, R, and/or SQL.
- Strong understanding of insurance underwriting, risk modelling, and profitability levers.
- Proven ability to communicate complex pricing concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with proven ability to generate and deliver new and commercially accretive idea
- Experience working with senior stakeholder, managing difficult messages and capability to take ownership of successes and misses
- Good knowledge of pricing regulation and governance within UK insurance markets.
- Strong leadership capabilities with a focus on coaching and team development.
