About the role:

Lead CRU’s Potash, Phosphates & Sulphur (PPS) Markets portfolio as the strategic voice for this space. Drive revenue growth and client satisfaction by guiding high-performing analyst teams to deliver industry-leading subscription services, cohesive market narratives, and sustainable proprietary data sets. Partner closely with Subject Matter Experts to shape differentiated, decision-ready insights for global clients.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide vision and leadership to ensure the PPS team delivers CRU analysis and market analysis and forecasts objectives
  • Build and sustain business resilience via transparent methodologies, structured data sets, efficient workflows, and knowledge transfer
  • Lead high-performing analyst teams to deliver cohesive, data-driven insights and thought leadership
  • Build and maintain senior client relationships; act as a primary contact for key clients and stakeholders
  • Embed a customer-centric culture with clear prioritization and performance accountability
  • Strengthen CRU’s digital presence (e.g., LinkedIn and WeChat) to amplify market position
  • Attract, hire, and retain top commodity research talent; set clear, strategy-aligned objectives
  • Foster continuous improvement, analytical excellence, professional growth, and sustainable work practices
  • Identify and develop high performers; coach line managers to elevate team capability
  • Partner with SMEs to align narratives; ensure models, methodologies, and frameworks follow agreed processes and align across industry groups
  • Drive cross-functional service execution to CRU editorial and delivery standards; coordinate with commodity teams, sales, marketing, and leadership
  • Share insights and best practices; represent team interests in company-wide initiatives


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a top-tier institution (essential)
  • Further education in a relevant discipline (e.g., geology, economics, engineering) preferred


Skills & Experience:

  • 10+ years in mining and metals commodity research; direct industry experience highly advantageous
  • 5+ years managing research analysts, ideally across international and multi-commodity teams
  • Proven ability to coach, inspire, influence, and develop team members
  • Strong quantitative background with creative problem-solving
  • Consistent delivery against personal and team objectives, targets, and deadlines
  • Commercial acumen in subscription businesses; focus on maximizing revenue/profit while delivering client value
  • Collaborative leadership style with strong personal initiative
  • Executive presence and communication skills to earn trust with market participants across channels
