We’re looking for a Head of Projects - Digital to lead the strategic direction and operational delivery of our entire project portfolio.
In this senior role, you’ll ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to exceptional quality standards while driving client satisfaction and long-term success.
You’ll lead and develop the project management team, champion continuous improvement, and play a key role in connecting strategy with execution. With full oversight of financial performance and delivery excellence, this is a high-impact opportunity to shape how our Business Unit delivers value and grows.

You Will
SUMMARY OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure that all projects have the required governance in place from an internal and external point of view.
- Oversee the successful delivery of all projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring alignment with business and client objectives.
- Ensure robust financial governance and control across all projects within the business unit, including the routine review of CACs, CTCs, and CPP files.
- Maintain accuracy and completeness of all documentation in line with month-end requirements and financial reporting standards.
- Drive excellence in project planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
- Implement and maintain consistent project governance, quality assurance, and risk management practices across the portfolio.
- Work with the project management team to ensure all projects over 250k have a PEP.
- Ensure lessons learned and best practices are captured and embedded into future delivery.
- Flag to Business Unit lead where aspect of project quality or deliverables is at risk.
- Define and monitor team KPIs and performance targets aligned with business strategy.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing project management team, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Support recruitment, training, and succession planning within the project delivery function.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Business Unit Heads, Sales, Engineering, and Operations to ensure resource alignment and smooth project execution.
- Own the financial performance of the project portfolio, ensuring accurate budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and margin optimisation.
- Oversee invoices, cash flow tracking, and commercial compliance in collaboration with finance teams.
- Accurate reporting of project delivery, highlighting successes, failures and recovery plans.
- Provide accurate project resourcing to enable an up-to-date resource planning and control of resource.
- Manage unacceptable and challenging behaviours, escalating when appropriate.
- Give clear, effective presentations to internal management on status of their work.
- Use the estimated time and cost for the project to develop a budget.
- Ensure that each project is successfully delivered on time and budget and within the cash flow plan.
- Analyse risks; manage risks and issues; monitor and report on progress.
- Lead project in line with the Digital Solutions Hybrid waterfall approach, including keeping planning boards up to date and participating in daily scrums.
- Follow all health and safety regulations, procedures and protocols and promptly escalates situations where procedures are not adhered to.
- Assist with any other duties reasonably requested and in line with the requirements of the post.
- Suggest changes and improvements if opportunities arise.

We are looking for:
Experience And Knowledge
- Knowledge of IT/OT.
- Experience of management of risk.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Project.
- Demonstrated success in stakeholder engagement, from C-suite clients to cross-functional internal teams.
- Persuasive, and able to overcome resistance from third parties, such that the project’s goals are achieved.
- Experience working on client sites.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a computing related degree, engineering related subject or in a commercial discipline.
Skills And Abilities
- Good verbal, written and presentation skills for effective collaboration and client interaction.
- Able to communicate effectively at the appropriate level for the audience.
- The ability to demonstrate good principles of leadership and management.
- Excellent ability to capture information, analyse it, and articulate an appropriate solution.
- Excellent communication skills, including written, with all stakeholders from the customer to internal engineers and management.
- Ability to manage multiple work scopes from multiple clients and work with teams of engineers to deliver these scopes.
- Capable of managing others to achieve successful outcomes as a team.
