The team
The QA team at CTI Digital is the gatekeeper of quality, ensuring our products and solutions meet the highest standards before they reach our clients. With a sharp eye for detail and a commitment to excellence, they rigorously test, troubleshoot, and refine to deliver seamless, reliable results. Working closely with developers, designers, and project managers, the team helps maintain efficiency, reduce risk, and enhance user experience. By upholding best practices and continuously improving processes, the QA team plays a crucial role in driving client satisfaction and the overall success of our business.
What you’ll be doing
As a Head of QA at CTI Digital, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our digital solutions. Your key responsibilities include:
🔍 Testing & Quality Assurance – Rigorously test and analyse products across platforms like Magento, Drupal, and Umbraco to ensure they meet our high standards.
⚙️ Driving Automation & Upskilling – Lead the introduction of automation tools and frameworks, while upskilling the QA team to adopt modern testing practices and continuously improve capability across the function.
📋 Creating & Maintaining Test Documentation – Develop bespoke test plans, maintain accurate records, and document findings to support continuous improvement.
🐞 Identifying & Reporting Bugs – Log issues in Jira, collaborate with developers to resolve defects, and contribute to the overall enhancement of our products.
🎯 Leading Test Efforts – Take ownership of testing on projects, ensuring thorough coverage and best practices are followed.
📢 Engaging with Stakeholders – Communicate test efforts, results, and insights to project teams and clients to ensure alignment on quality objectives.
🔄 Reviewing Technical Specifications – Work closely with developers and project managers to understand requirements and ensure testing aligns with business goals.
What you need to be successful
To thrive in this role, you’ll need to bring both technical expertise and leadership capability. Key qualities include:
✅ Leadership Experience – Experience as a Head of QA or equivalent management role, and 5+ years in QA overall.
🏢 Agency Background – You’ve worked in fast-paced digital or creative agency settings and understand the demands and pace (not essential but would be highly beneficial!).
📦 Platform Experience – Strong experience testing websites on platforms like Magento, Drupal, or Umbraco.
🧪 Tool Proficiency & Automation Mindset – Confidence introducing automation and leveraging tools like cross-browser testing, regression tracking, and visual comparison software to enhance testing efficiency and reliability.
🛠 Tools & Techniques – Proficiency in tools like Jira and online test platforms; exposure to automated testing is a bonus.
🌍 Team Collaboration – You’re confident leading hybrid/distributed teams and fostering a supportive, high-performance culture.
💬 Communication Skills – Clear, calm, and confident when working with technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
🧠 Strategic Thinking – Able to zoom out and shape process, while rolling your sleeves up when needed to ensure delivery.

📞Screening Stage - a 30-minute exploratory call with our Talent Team
💻1st Stage - Video call with a senior member of the Engineering team. A chance to explore the role and responsibilities.
📆2nd Stage - A face to face interview with a member of the Engineering team and our CTO. We don’t do technical tasks but will ask technical questions and probe around your experience as a tester.
