About the Role:
We are thrilled to announce an exciting opportunity for an experienced Head of Quality Assurance to join our established and expanding business. In this pivotal role, you will provide leadership and expertise in all aspects of Quality Assurance, driving improvement and efficiency across various projects and divisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Management: Lead, manage, and develop the quality team to ensure adherence to best practices and continuous improvement.
- Strategy Development: Create and implement a comprehensive quality management strategy that aligns with business objectives and enhances operational performance.
- Quality Assurance Leadership: Drive the development and implementation of quality and business assurance processes across the organisation.
- Operational Compliance: Ensure all client, industry, and external standards are thoroughly embedded and complied with throughout the organisation.
- Project Support: Collaborate with regional directors and project teams to assess the effectiveness of quality measures and foster performance improvement initiatives.
- Audit Program Development: Design a robust internal surveillance program using a risk-based audit approach, ensuring that actionable plans are in place for continual improvement.
- Tender Leadership: Act as the focal point for quality-related tender responses, ensuring a unified message regarding strategy and approach.
- Training and Culture: Lead the design and implementation of a quality training and awareness strategy to foster a culture of quality across the business.
- Representation: Serve as the representative for the Quality function in internal meetings and industry forums.
- Feedback Integration: Analyse trends from lessons learned, best practices, and client feedback to inform future operations.
- External Assurance: Lead and manage external assurance activities to uphold quality standards.
Experience Required:
- Proven experience in a similar role as Head of Quality Assurance or equivalent, with a strong track record in fulfilling the outlined responsibilities.
- Extensive experience in complex, multi-disciplinary environments, specifically within the Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical engineering sectors.
- In-depth understanding of ISO standards, including ISO 9001 (Quality Management), ISO 14001 (Environmental Management), and ISO 45001 (Health and Safety Management).
- Experience in managing Business Management Systems effectively.
- Exceptional communication, report writing, and presentation skills.
- Skilled in developing bid responses and managing tender processes.
- Relevant qualifications in Engineering or Quality (Degree/HNC/HND/Diploma).
- Trained Lead Auditor for ISO Standards, particularly ISO 9001.
- Possession of a full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Knowledge of LEAN principles.
- Membership with the Chartered Quality Institute (CQI).
- PTS (Personal Track Safety) certification.
