MERJE is engaged on a search for an exceptional Head of Compliance for a leading insurtech company looking to set up in the UK. This pivotal role will spearhead regulatory strategy and compliance operations for the company's UK market entry and expansion. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial services compliance, particularly within the insurance sector.

Salary: £100,000 - £150,000

Location: Fully remote (occasional need to be in London)

The Role

The Head of Compliance will be instrumental in designing and enforcing compliance frameworks that enable safe scaling of digital financial services. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the regulatory strategy of a fast-growing insurtech company in the UK market.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain compliance frameworks aligned with UK regulatory requirements, especially FCA rules
Lead regulatory readiness for market entry, licensing, and ongoing supervision
Build policies and controls covering AML, KYC, data privacy, and consumer duty
Establish monitoring, testing, and reporting processes for ongoing compliance
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure compliant execution of business strategies

Required knowledge and experience

8+ years of compliance, risk, or regulatory experience within financial services
Minimum 1 year experience in the insurance industry
Deep understanding of UK regulatory frameworks, including FCA rules
Proven ability to design policies and manage complex compliance programmes
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
