About The Role
As Head of Social Media and Communications, you will be the strategic leader and driving force behind our group’s presence across all media platforms with particular focus on maximising social channels. You will define the vision, set ambitious growth targets, and oversee the execution of a world-class social media strategy that enhances brand reputation, deepens audience engagement, and drives measurable business results. This role combines high-level strategic planning with the leadership of a talented team, ensuring excellence in both creativity and performance.
About You
Main Duties and Accountabilities
Strategic Leadership
Develop, lead, and continually refine the organisation’s multi-platform social media strategy to align with overarching business and brand objectives.
Establish and monitor KPIs for growth, engagement, conversion, and ROI across all social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, YouTube, TikTok, and emerging channels).
Anticipate trends and emerging technologies to keep the organisation at the forefront of digital engagement.
Team Management & Collaboration
Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing social media team, fostering creativity, collaboration, and professional growth.
Oversee the allocation of resources and priorities across projects, ensuring timely delivery of campaigns and initiatives.
Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, senior leadership, and external agencies to ensure strategic alignment and creative excellence.
Campaign Planning & Execution
Oversee the conception, planning, and execution of impactful paid and organic campaigns, ensuring integration across wider marketing and PR initiatives.
Ensure consistent brand voice, style, and messaging across all platforms while tailoring content to specific audience segments.
Drive innovation in storytelling, formats, and platform-specific strategies to maximise reach and engagement.
Brand Reputation & Crisis Management
Protect and enhance the organisation’s reputation by monitoring sentiment and swiftly managing potential issues.
Serve as the senior point of escalation for any customer service or reputational matters arising via social media channels.
Analytics & Optimisation
Implement a robust measurement and reporting framework, providing data-driven insights to guide future strategy.
Continuously analyse performance metrics to identify opportunities for optimisation and growth.
Content Excellence
Oversee the creation of high-quality, compelling content including video, imagery, blogs, and interactive assets.
Champion SEO and content optimisation best practices to maximise discoverability and impact.
Other Duties
Represent the social media function at senior leadership meetings and contribute to broader marketing and communications strategies.
Undertake any additional duties as reasonably required, in line with the seniority of the post.
Core Skills & Attributes
Proven track record in leading social media strategy and teams at a senior level.
Strong commercial acumen and ability to link social media activity to business outcomes.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with impeccable attention to detail.
Deep knowledge of current and emerging social media platforms, tools, and trends.
Adept at balancing creative vision with analytical rigour.
