The Role
As the Head of Supply Chain, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be working in the sense and connect business, there is huge growth and opportunity within this dynamic part of the business.

- Manage the relationships with key industry supply Partners, sub-contractors and suppliers to help develop the Sense & Connect business for Babcock.
- Deliver the Sense & Connect supply chain strategy ensuring best practise is followed by all stakeholders to meet customer and wider business requirements.
- Provide leadership for the Sense & Connect supply chain team as well as positive influence on wider Mission Systems teams. Create and harness a positive culture based around our people led strategy ensuring our talent delivers both Sense & Connect and Mission Systems/Group wide targets.
- Create and deliver the Sense & Connect contract maturity plan. Identify value opportunities and levers to deliver business profit enhancing savings.
- Establish Supply chain models focused on harnessing the benefits of Supplier Relationship Management in order to drive value and supplier led innovation.
- Play a key role in the management of the Growth Pipeline and control the associated functional objectives.
- Be responsible for Supply Chain critical KPIs for example supplier on-time delivery performance.
This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides flexible hybrid working arrangements with days in the office/onsite and days working from home.
Essential Experience Of The Head Of Supply Chain
- Supply Chain management in a complex technology led, regulated industry. Specific Sense & Connect / Mission Systems industry domain experience would be a distinct advantage but is not essential.
- Significant procurement experience, ideally in a project procurement environment to include management experience.
Qualifications For The Head Of Supply Chain
- A recognised degree level qualification and/or relevant engineering/supply chain/lean culture experience.
- Membership of a relevant professional body e.g. CIPS at level 5 or above.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Enhanced Developed Vetting (EDV) security clearance for this role. The successful candidate will the allowed to start on Security Check (SC) security clearance but would then need to obtain Enhanced Developed Vetting (EDV) once in post.
