Working in partnership with the Clinical Director, Associate Director and Head of Operations for Imaging to enable the delivery of outstanding services in accordance with agreed objectives, targets (including waiting list DM01 and Cancer targets), quality standards, controls and resource constraints as set out in the business plans for the services delivered by the directorate. The post holder also has a key role to play in the development of the strategic vision for Imaging across the Trust.
Provide daily support and leadership for non-medical professional and clinical support staff across the Imaging directorate, ensuring patients and staff are safe, cared for and listened to.
Lead the strategic CDC transformation and modernisation of Imaging services across the Trust. In partnership with the Clinical Director, Associate Director and Head of Operations, drive forward innovative CDC models, digital transformation, pathway redesign and optimisation of Imaging services aligned to national programmes (such as Community Diagnostic Centres and GIRFT), improving quality, efficiency and patient experience. Ensure that non-medical professional and clinical support staff provide excellent quality care with exceptionally high safety standards and treat all patients with dignity and respect.
- Provide all necessary support to the overall leadership, direction and management of non-medical professional and clinical support staff within the directorate, working closely with other members of the Imaging and divisional leadership teams, the Director of AHPs and other clinical and operational teams.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of directorate business plans and service strategy, paying special attention to the clinical standards and service improvements that enhance patient care, within and outside the organisation. This may include complex insourced and/or outsourced service provision using activity data to plan required capacity. This will also involve input into the development of Trust and sector wide plans to create Community Diagnostic Centres as a national strategic response to anticipated growth across Imaging.
- Be familiar with Radiology Information Systems (RIS) to be able to extract, collate and interpret demand and capacity data across all areas of the directorate and be able to produce equipment modelling, CDC modelling, schedule templates and costing for imaging across all sites.
- Manage the delegated revenue budgets for the non-medical professional, nursing and clinical support CDC and ensure directorate fiscal responsibility.
