The Environment Department is the largest department in the City of London Corporation with 850 staff, working in 25 locations providing key front-line services to the City and beyond.
The role
We are seeking a full-time Health and Safety Advisor to assist in implementing, monitoring and ensuring compliance of the organisation’s occupational health and safety management system across the Environment Department and its various sites. . Responsibilities include:
About you
We are looking for a highly motivated individual with a track record of driving improvement in a diverse Health and Safety environment, meeting the requirements of certified membership of IOSH or equivalent. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
You will have a good working knowledge of health and safety legislation and guidance with experience of interpreting and applying these at a practical level in the workplace.
You will have demonstrable experience in health and safety management systems in a large organisation, with the ability to monitor and interpret data.
You will also have the ability to provide advice, guidance and coaching to managers and employees at all levels.
Local government package of conditions and benefits apply to this appointment. Starting salary will be based on qualifications, knowledge and experience.
