This is a hands-on role where you’ll work across multiple sites — including production, transport, mobile milling, and retail — partnering with managers and teams to ensure our health and safety standards don’t just meet legislation, but set the benchmark for best practice.

What you’ll do

  • Promote and implement the Group’s H&S policies across all business units.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to managers, supervisors, and teams.
  • Lead accident and incident investigations, driving effective corrective actions.
  • Maintain and develop our H&S Management System in partnership with site teams.
  • Deliver accurate safety performance reports to senior leadership.
  • Foster a proactive, positive safety culture and ensure audit readiness at all times.

What we’re looking for

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) in Occupational Health & Safety.
  • Strong knowledge of UK H&S legislation and best practice.
  • Proven experience in manufacturing, production, or logistics.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • A self-starter who can manage multiple priorities and work autonomously.

Desirable:

  • Experience in agriculture, feed production, or related industries.
  • Internal auditor qualification (ISO standards).
  • Experience developing integrated H&S and QA management systems.

Why join Harbro?

  • Be part of a respected, forward-thinking organisation with a strong safety culture.
  • Work across diverse and interesting operations with real impact.
  • Enjoy a supportive environment with opportunities for development.

  • Benefits
  • Annual leave of 30 days including public holidays
  • Company Pension Scheme (salary sacrifice)
  • Staff Discount in our Retail Stores
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
  • Employee Referral Scheme
  • Perkbox
  • Discount in Retail Stores
