Key Responsibilities

As a Health & Safety Advisor at CVS Group, you will:

Policy & Compliance: Ensure adherence to health & safety legislation by reviewing and updating policies and procedures.
Risk Management:

Conduct risk assessments, identify hazards, and implement measures to minimize accidents and risks.

Audits & Investigations: Perform health & safety audits and investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.

Fire Safety: Review fire risk assessments and promote fire safety awareness among site teams.

Training & Leadership: Develop and deliver training on health & safety best practices to managers and employees.

Incident Reporting: Maintain records of incidents and produce reports to identify trends and improve safety.

Committee Management: Chair health & safety committees and ensure effective communication and documentation.

Regulatory Guidance: Stay updated with health & safety legislation, advising senior management on changes.

Stakeholder Support: Provide expert advice on health & safety queries to all staff levels.

External Liaison: Collaborate with third-party assessors and authorities to take necessary action on findings.

Qualifications and Skills

A qualification in occupational health and safety, ideally level 6.
Experience as a Health & Safety Advisor in a similar environment.
Strong understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
IT literate with proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong organizational and motivational skills.
Ability to produce reports and develop policies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strategic thinking and effective influencing abilities.
