About the Organisation

Our client is a world-renowned multi-arts and conference venue located in the heart of London. With a diverse programme of events and a commitment to excellence, the organisation is undergoing a significant renewal programme and is seeking a dedicated Health and Safety Manager to support its operations and strategic development.

The Role

As Health and Safety Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the organisation meets its statutory obligations and maintains a safe environment for staff, visitors, and contractors. You will provide expert advice and practical guidance on workplace risk management, including CDM (Construction Design and Management) regulations, and support the implementation of a robust health and safety management system.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide competent health and safety advice to ensure legal compliance and adherence to corporate policies.
• Develop and maintain health and safety standards, policies, and risk assessments.
• Monitor legislative changes and industry best practices, advising on their practical application.
• Support incident investigations, audits, and inspections, ensuring timely resolution of actions.
• Advise on health and safety aspects of the organisation’s renewal and construction projects.
• Promote a positive health and safety culture through training, campaigns, and stakeholder engagement.
• Deputise for the Head of Health and Safety when required.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

• NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Member of IOSH (with willingness to become Chartered).
• Significant experience in a health and safety role within a large, complex, event-based organisation.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and management systems.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Desirable:

• NEBOSH Construction Certificate or equivalent CDM qualification.
• Chartered Member of IOSH (CMIOSH).
• Experience working with trade unions and developing first aid needs assessments.
