About Us
St David’s is a popular and over-subscribed Catholic Sixth Form College providing high quality education for 16–19-year-olds within Cardiff and the Vale of Glamorgan. In our 2019 Estyn inspection we achieved an ‘excellent’ grade in inspection area one for standards, and in inspection area five for leadership and management. The 2020 Archdiocese of Cardiff Inspection Report remarked: “Catholic education at St David’s Catholic Sixth Form College is of the highest standard. The Mission Statement is very clear, firmly rooted in Gospel values.”
Job Description
- Lead and promote a positive health, safety and wellbeing culture across the college.
- Review and maintain the H&S Policy, arrangements and oversee the college’s key risk register
- Develop and update risk assessments with staff, including special assessments for trips, events and vulnerable individuals.
- Oversee day-to-day site safety: contractors, visitors, canteen, traffic management, and site maintenance.
- Manage fire safety: fire risk assessment, equipment checks, drills and emergency planning.
- Conduct incident investigations, complete RIDDOR reporting, and deliver and embed lessons learned.
- Carry out regular site inspections compliance audit of Safety Management System and performance.
- Oversee first aid provision, compliance training and DSE assessments.
- Provide clear H&S reports to SLT and Governors and keep up to date with changes in UK H&S legislation
The position is offered as a 60% FTE PART TIME role on a PERMANENT contract, and it attracts an actual salary of £26,304.41.

The College operates a Sixth Form College academic year and therefore the Autumn Term begins in late August to allow for enrolment activities.
