Pre-Operative Assessment
Fitzwilliam Hospital, Peterborough
Full Time | 37.5 hours per week
Monday to Friday | Department Hours: 8am–8pm

Join our friendly Pre-Operative Assessment Unit at Fitzwilliam Hospital, where you’ll support patients ahead of their surgical procedures and play an essential role in delivering high-quality, compassionate care.

Fitzwilliam Hospital is one of Cambridgeshire's leading independent hospitals, delivering outstanding healthcare services since 1983. Located in the quiet, landscaped grounds of the Milton Estate in Peterborough, the hospital features 54 single bedrooms and 1 twin-bedded room, all with en suite facilities, and treats both private and NHS patients.
By investing in advanced medical technology, Fitzwilliam Hospital offers a state-of-the-art range of treatments and services. Its fully equipped ultra clean air theatre suite is especially suitable for orthopaedic procedures, including spinal surgery, arthroscopy, hip replacements, and knee replacements.
What You'll Do:
- Support patients during their pre-operative assessment journey
- Assist nursing and clinical staff with essential care duties
- Ensure patients feel informed, comfortable, and cared for
- Maintain accurate records and support clinical safety protocols
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in a healthcare setting (pre-op or surgical experience is a bonus)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A kind, professional, and patient-focused approach
- Willingness to work flexibly within department hours (8am–8pm, Monday to Friday)
