Main duties of the job
- To support the registered nurses within a unit or clinical area, and to provide the delivery of essential nursing care to patients under supervision of a nurse.
- To assist registered nurses in the general care of acutely ill or injured patients
- To undertake trained clinical skills (as competent)
- To maintain identified unit environment and equipment to the correct standard of cleanliness and working order.

Essential criteria
- Venesection
- Able to competently record ECG’s
- Blood glucose & urinalysis testing
- Able to write clearly and legibly
- Assist the registered nurse in health promotion
- Completion minor injury competencies for HCSW
Desirable criteria
- Able to perform minor injury treatments: e.g. - basic dressings using an aseptic technique - Basic plaster application/removal - application of slings and support bandages
Qualifications

- Maths/English. BLS, basic IT skills etc
