Health & Safety and Facilities Manager
Hybrid role - 2 days a week visiting stores, 3 days a week working from home. 2 days a month at head office in Surrey.

We’re on the hunt for a brilliant Health and Safety Manager, who has proven experience leading the delivery of the Health & Safety and Facilities strategy across a fast paced, people focused business. This person should be pro-active and hands on in their approach, keen to take on a new challenge and make a real difference.
Leading a small team, this role is accountable for shaping a safe and optimal working environment for our colleagues, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation and the wellbeing of each other remains a priority for all.

What You Can Expect From The Role…
- Provide expert advice to our colleagues on all areas of Health & Safety
- Conduct effective Fire Risk Assessments in line with regulatory requirements
- Act as the Senior First Aider and Fire Warden - responsible for carrying out fire alarm testing and assisting with evacuation drills
- Co-ordinate and manage First Aiders and Fire Wardens for all areas of the business
- Deliver task-based risk assessments and support others to do so
- Monitor, evaluate and review our Health and Safety policy, making valuable recommendations and implementing positive change
- Advise the Risk Committee on the implications of current and emerging H&S welfare legislation
- Partner with business leads to ensure prioritisation of facilities/maintenance budget to stay aligned to business strategy and compliant from a H&S perspective
- Ensure compliance to RIDDOR to include accident investigation where required
- Effectively resolve or escalate maintenance issues using existing facilities management providers
- Maintain partnerships with our maintenance contractors and suppliers, ensuring they are the right people for the job and are delivering to our agreed service levels, going out to tender where needed
- Ensure contractor details, insurance, RAMS are centralised and kept up to date.
- Assist the security team in carrying out weekly building inspections at head office
- Support budgeting processes and actively control department costs, include the administration of invoicing and purchasing
- Welcome new colleagues into the business with the relevant H&S induction to ensure their safety for the very start
- Help mitigate business continuity issues, showing a degree of flexibility to get to a solution efficiently
What We’re Looking For From The Successful Candidate…
- Proven as a Health & Safety Manager, ideally within the Retail, Leisure or Hospitality industry
- Qualified Fire Risk Assessor
- Experience in dealing with Local Authorities / Fire Officers
- Strong commercial mindset with experience as a budget holder
- Understand PPM and have demonstrable vendor management skills
- Experience managing external suppliers and contractors
- Hands on approach to delivering results
- A fantastic communicator with a natural flair for building great relationships
- A resourceful and ‘can do’ mentality
