Flying Start Antenatal Lead Health Visitor Vacancy - Wrexham area Band 6 Permanent, Part Time 30 hours
An opportunity has arisenfor an enthusiastic and innovative Health Visitor to join our Flying Start Health Visiting Service in the Wrexham area. We are looking for a self-motivated team player who has excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills. The post holder will work within a multi-agency Flying Start team targeting communities in need to provide enhanced local services. You will manage a defined antenatal caseload, with a focus on early intervention and support in the antenatal period, for expectant parents, with the overarching aims of increasing family resilience, improving population health outcomes and reducing health inequalities.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will undertake assessment of needs, planning, implementing and evaluating the programme of care offered to families and individuals in the antenatal period. You will also facilitate group and community work for expectant parents, with a focus on early intervention. In addition, you will provide Health Visiting intervention as per the Flying Start Contact Programme and Healthy Child Wales Programme, where required, to families across the Wrexham Flying Start Service.
The post holder will be committed to developing a high degree of standards of care and actively seek and promote professional working relationships with the wider Flying Start Team, and other practitioners, demonstrating excellent communication. The individual will be passionate about promoting public health, promoting specialist knowledge and advice to families enabling them to lead healthy lifestyles, prevent illness and to give their children the best possible start in life.
Candidates must hold a degree or equivalent in Health Visiting with current NMC registration and nurse prescribing qualification. Midwifery experience is preferable.
The Health Board offers an Induction Course and ongoing Clinical Supervision and support from its Safeguarding Children Team and opportunities for in house training.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
