Opportunity has arisen for Healthcare Assistants on the Acute Stroke Unit.
The Acute Stroke unit has a total of 26 beds; the unit also has a TIA Clinic with dedicated Stroke Clinical Nurse Specialists and Stroke Support Workers.
We are looking for Healthcare Assistants who can work in a busy environment, who possess excellent communication skills, can maintain a high degree of confidentiality, are enthusiastic and have a passion for giving quality patient care.
Duties include providing a high standard of care by providing personal hygiene care, maintaining patient tissue integrity and providing pressure area care, recording of observations, assisting with feeding requirements, documentation overseen by a registered nurse, assisting with mobility needs, communication to patients/relatives/carers and working within the team to support your colleagues in providing a positive experience for the patient.
Our patients need care 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, so youll need to have flexibility to workday, weekend and night shifts. In return, youll benefit from flexible working patterns and unsocial hours payments and the opportunity to experience working within a friendly supportive team.

Main duties of the job
As a Healthcare Support Worker you will be responsible for delivering essential nursing care under the supervision of a qualified nurse, this includes:-
- providing personal care
- relaying information
- assisting with mobility
- recording vital signs
- assisting with feeding requirements
- communication to patients/relatives/carers
