Salary: Up to £12.40 per hour (depending on level of experience, training and qualification)

We have an opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join their team of staff in the Pre-Assessment department.
This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence.
Duties Of This Role Include
- Provide comfort and emotional support to patients and relatives, creating a caring and safe environment.
- Carry out and accurately record routine observations such as blood pressure, pulse, respiratory rate, temperature, oxygen saturation, and blood glucose levels (after appropriate training).
- Be able to confidentiality carry out a electrocardiogram
- To work along side the registered nurse to assist with patient care
- Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, therapists, and admin teams to support safe and efficient patient care
- Following instructions from the registered nurse to complete phlebotomy for pre operative patients and the relevant test.
Applicants Should Meet The Following Criteria
- Previous experience in a care or health support role (hospital, care home, community, or domiciliary).
- Venepuncture training and competency
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with a caring, compassionate attitude.
- Ability to follow instructions and escalate concerns appropriately.
- Basic literacy, numeracy, and IT skills.
- Physically able to undertake duties including moving and handling tasks.
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification) desirable.
- Knowledge of safeguarding, infection control, and confidentiality procedures.
