Higher Level Teaching Assistant
Salary Scale: Scale 5 Spine point 12 - 15
Actual salary range: (£28,858 - £30,148 pa) Depending on experience

The core purpose of the job will be to lead in the delivery of an adapted curriculum for students who are receiving their education in the new Additionally Resourced Provision (ARP). They will be adapting and delivering lessons and interventions to a very small group of KS3 students who are struggling to access the mainstream school, due to barriers around social communication and anxiety associated with ASC, with a view to helping them integrate successfully into more mainstream lessons as they move through the school. They will work in partnership with teachers to improve the learning and attainment of students while also promoting their independence, self-esteem and social inclusion. They will also support in the delivery of a range of other interventions, including extra-curricular opportunities and 1:1 and group interventions aimed at improving students’ social, emotional and mental health and wellbeing. The role provides support to students so that they can access the curriculum, participate in learning, develop their resilience and experience a sense of achievement and belonging.
