King's College Hospital is looking for a Band 7 WTE Paediatric Sleep Physiologist to join the paediatric respiratory medicine and sleep services team. The successful candidate will manage and deliver sleep physiology testing within the Variety Children's Hospital.
The post holder will manage cardiorespiratory polygraphy and oxicapnography studies for the dedicated paediatric sleep service, both for inpatients and as part of the home sleep service. They will analyze and report on various studies, including diagnostic assessments and CPAP, BiPAP, and oxygen titration studies. Additionally, they will provide guidance and supervision to junior staff in study setups and analysis.
The role also involves leading the development of the hospital's sleep investigation service. The Paediatric Respiratory and Cystic Fibrosis Centre at the Variety Children’s Hospital, King’s College Hospital, offers secondary and tertiary referral services for children with complex lung disease and cystic fibrosis, primarily serving Southeast London, Kent, and Sussex.
The Centre delivers comprehensive paediatric respiratory care, from full diagnostic services and chronic condition management to acute inpatient care and hospital-wide consultations. We are seeking a candidate with energy and enthusiasm, who has extensive experience in sleep physiology, preferably in paediatrics, to further develop the services. In return, you will be supported by a dedicated and friendly team.
Liaising with the Paediatric Respiratory Physiology Research Group at King’s College London, School of Life Course Sciences regarding all matters of operational and estates management, procurement, maintenance, service development and policy/strategic goals such as may impact research activity in the King’s College London-owned laboratory space.
Responsibility for the accurate data recording of diagnostic tests on relevant systems to enable reimbursement.
With support of service management team, ensure that processes are in place for recording, audit and monitoring.
