Join Our Team as a Specialist IBD Nurse
Are you a dedicated and skilled nurse passionate about making a difference in the lives of patients with inflammatory bowel disease? We are offering an exciting opportunity within our well-established, multidisciplinary Gastroenterology Service to join a dynamic team of five highly specialist IBD nurses.
We are seeking an enthusiastic professional with excellent communication and motivational skills, relevant experience, and a strong background in gastroenterology. This role provides a chance to contribute to innovative patient care, service development, and ongoing professional growth in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and their families
- Applying sound clinical knowledge of gastroenterology
- Demonstrating strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently
- Prioritising workloads effectively to meet the demands of the role
The position is offered at Band 6. Upon successful completion of specified competencies, including the IBD module and non-medical prescribing training at university, the candidate will be eligible for promotion to Band 7 as an IBD Specialist Nurse.
Candidates who meet the desirable criteria and possess substantial IBD experience may be considered for the Band 7 role following a successful interview.
Training will be provided with a period of supernumerary status.

- Establish and maintain effective communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams on complex and sensitive topics
- Develop your own expertise and support the growth of others across professional and organisational boundaries
- Monitor and ensure the health, safety, and security of yourself and colleagues
- Lead initiatives to improve services and patient outcomes for those with IBD
- Promote equality, diversity, and patients’ right
- Assess and respond to complex health and wellbeing needs, adapting approaches as needs evolve
- Lead and share knowledge, skills, and best practices within the IBD team
- Take a lead role in research and development projects to enhance service quality and innovation
