This is a new exciting role to lead the SEMH pathway for Speech and Language Therapy services across Stockport. This will include line management of Speech & Language Therapists, pathway management, project work, support of other speech and language team leads, as well as direct work within SEMH provisions.
- To take day-to-day responsibility for the leadership and operational management of a designated team of SaLTs and support staff
- To be responsible for developing and monitoring the standard of service provision across your team through the implementation of clinical governance requirements i.e. protocols and guidelines, clinical audit and risk management policies.
- To contribute to business plans for the managed areas.
- To deputise for more senior staff when appropriate.
- To facilitate in-service training, research and audit activities within the designated team.
- To teach, develop and educate team members to ensure service needs are met.
- To be responsible for the provision of highly specialised assessment, treatment and management of patients referred to your team.
- To work as an autonomous practitioner using advanced and highly specialised skills and knowledge, determine clinical diagnoses and treatment indicated for a complex caseload and maintain records.
- To take responsibility for specific areas of expertise, as agreed with the Children's Therapy Services Lead, taking the lead on these within the department.
