Integrated Transport Planning (ITP):

The Role:
We’re looking for a Highway/Infrastructure Design Engineer to assist with the production of highway design solutions within our UK Engineering Design team. You will be expected to contribute to the technical excellence of the team and can expect to gain considerable experience by working across a variety of challenging and interesting Highway and Infrastructure design projects. The role demands a proactive approach in a multi-disciplinary team environment and offers substantial opportunities for career progression within Haskoning. You’ll bring a solid foundation in highway/infrastructure design, a proactive mindset, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
What We’re Looking For:
- Have experience of preparing detailed designs for highway/drainage/infrastructure projects through the technical approval process.
- Have experience of Section 278/38 Highway approval submissions and knowledge of Section 104/106 water industry agreements.
- Have a good working knowledge of DMRB, Manual for Streets and relevant design standards and an awareness of DCG drainage design guidance and Building Regulations.
- Have experience of working in AutoCAD, Civil 3D software and associated design packages e.g. AVT, KeySign/Post.
- Contribute to the formulation and presentation of advice to clients in their own area of expertise, in line with the project scope, Haskoning quality standards and in close cooperation with colleagues.
- Provide support in the preparation and updating of all relevant technical documentation, ensuring that in the future decisions can be understood and other developers are able to take over the development.
- Operate autonomously and without close supervision within a team structure and be responsible for delivering work within the stipulated time and budget, ensuring change requests and small enhancements are progressed.
- Communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally, using a range of formats to convey complex ideas.
- Be a member of CIHT/ICE or an equivalent body.
- Contribute to the advancement of their profession and the broader industry by keeping up-to-date with major developments in the discipline and actively sharing latest knowledge in their own field with colleagues.
