Job Description

We have a rare and exciting opportunity to join our Home Ownership team, as the current post holder is retiring after almost two decades leading the team. The role is perfect for someone who has a genuine desire to take personal responsibility in delivering excellent customer service, overseeing the day-to-day management of the team, and being the Council’s expert in Leasehold Services, Shared Ownership, and Right to Buy.
In this exciting role, you will be responsible for:
- Overseeing the management of leasehold and shared ownership properties
- Leading the delivery and development of the Right to Buy Scheme
- Leading on Section 20 consultations and serving Section 20B notices.
- Improving leaseholder satisfaction through forums, surveys, and responsive service delivery.
- Working closely with councillors, resident representatives, and internal and external partners.
Our ideal candidate will have worked in Home Ownership/Leasehold Services and will have detailed knowledge of leasehold legislation and procedures to be the Council’s technical expert in leasehold, shared ownership, and right to buy. The candidate must be able to work on their own initiative, manage a busy workload, have excellent IT skills, and have the ability to build effective relationships. Due to the nature of this position, you will need to have a full driving licence and access to your own vehicle, which is insured for business use; or be willing to cycle around the city.
Hours: This is a full-time role, for 37 hours per week.
Working Pattern: Monday-Friday
Contract: Permanent
Salary: £40,476 - £45,718 per annum (City Pay Band 6), pro rata for part time.
Location: This is flexible – working in Cambridge on site or at one of our offices or working from home. You will be able to balance your work location accordingly.
